REESE WITHERSPOON ELEGANT UPDO

Reese Elegant Updo. This side braided updo is easy and can be created in a jiffy with long hair or short hair and a great extension piece. Perfect for the boho girl at any event who has thick and wavy locks.

DESCRIPTION: HALF BRAIDED UPDO
OCCASION: FORMAL, PROM, WEDDING
HAIRTYPE: MEDIUM TO LONG LENGTH, WAVY, CURLY OR STRAIGHT, FINE TO THICK, FRESHLY BLOW-DRIED OR UNWASHED HAIR

Follow these simple step by step updos instructions to get this look!

1. Roll your hair in curlers using the larger curlers for the longest layers and the smaller curlers for the smaller ones.

2. Spray fine layer of hairspray evenly over entire head and let set for 15 minutes to 30 minutes depending on thickness of hair.

3. Carefully unravel, run-through the curls gently with your fingers and shake head from side to side, if necessary gently run through with a wide tooth comb.

4. Use a volumizing spray and tease hair with a teasing comb at the roots. Brush out gently, making sure not to ruin the volume you have just achieved.

5. Now tease the under layer of hair (with a round brush) where the updo will be secured (middle, back area of your scalp) and douse with hairspray. This will help build volume to help you secure the updo properly.

6. Gently pull back the top part your hair toward the area you teased and secure with bobbypins and continue the same process with the sides of your hair.

7. You should now have what looks like a quasi-mullet with most of your hair pulled back and the length hanging over the teased mound you created at the nape of your neck.

8. Take the long layers of hair in pieces and wrap over and around the teased mound as you see fit and secure with bobbypins (criss-cross the pins for extra hold), tucking the ends in and under the updo.

9. After each section is placed and pinned, lightly mist hairspray.

10. When all the hair has been pinned, smooth out any bumps and fiddle to cover any exposed teased hair and remember, bobbypins are your best friend.

11. Spritz the back with a ton of hairspray to set and go lighter in the front. You can add some shine spray as a finishing touch and even some bejeweled hair combs if you so desire.

12. Remember to carry some extra bobbypins and a pocket size hairspray in your purse in case of hair emergency.
