THE PENELOPE CRUZ BRAIDED UPDO

Here's the Penelope Cruz Braided Updo. This braided, modern take on an elegant classic is sure to be a standout at any wedding or formal event. Best for thick long and straight hair and someone who's not afraid of using extensions to get a big and beautiful look.

DESCRIPTION: FULL UPDO, BRAID
OCCASION: WEDDING, PROM, FORMAL
HAIRTYPE: LONG, MEDIUM TO THICK, STRAIGHT, CURLY, OR WAVY, MEDIUM TO COARSE TEXTURE

Follow these simple step by step updos instructions to get this look!

1. Do not wash your hair the day of the event.

2. Roll your hair in curlers using the larger curlers for the longest layers and the smaller curlers for the smaller ones.

3. Spray a fine layer of hairspray evenly over entire head and let set for 15 minutes to 30 minutes depending on thickness of hair.

4. Carefully unravel, run-through the curls gently with your fingers and shake head from side to side, if necessary gently run through with wide tooth comb.

5. Use a volumizing texture spray and tease hair with a teasing comb at the roots. Brush out gently, making sure not to ruin the volume you have just achieved.

6. Pull hair into a tight ponytail and gather the loose hair into a hairnet (that matches your hair colour) by loosely wrapping the hair in a bun and secure the hair net with bobby pins to the back of your head around the perimeter of the bun. If your hair is not long or thick enough, consider filling in the net with hair extensions by first wrapping the ponytail at the base with an extension piece to create fullness.

7. Take a good quality braided hairpiece and start securing around the net, starting at the bottom, with bobby pins that match your hair colour.

8. Secure the netted area to the edge of the braid to keep things even and to avoid the net from drooping over the braid.

9. Finish with an ample amount of hairspray to set the look.
