THE OLSEN MESSY UPDO

Here's Olsen Messy Updo is for short to medium length hair, this easy updo is a perfect choice for everything from a casual event, prom or even a wedding. Hair with fine to medium thickness and some wave will work best for this look!

DESCRIPTION: MESSY UPDO
OCCASION: CASUAL, SEMI-FORMAL
HAIRTYPE: MEDIUM TO LONG LENGTH, FINE TO MEDIUM THICKNESS, UNWASHED/SLEPT ON

Follow these simple step by step updos instructions to get this look!

1. Flip your hair upside down and spray a fine layer of hairspray on the underside. Flip upright and repeat on the top. Finger-tousle as it dries.

2. Gather the hair around your face area and clip it out of the way so you can work on the back of your hair first. Do not overcurl. If you do take a wide tooth comb to the hair to loosen it up.

3. Start curling 1-inch sections away from your face all over your head, leaving your ends out of the curling iron.

4. Unclip the front section of your hair and curl as you did the rest of your hair.

5. Finger tousle your hair at the nape of your neck, then shake your hair (but do not run fingers through) to make the loose curls even messier.

6. Now loosely gather back chunks of your hair haphazardly (messy is good) towards the back of your head and secure with a bobby pin. Make sure you are gathering the chunks towards the middle of the back of your head to create a messy bun type gathering.

7. Keep out your longer bang layers.

8. Finish with a spritzing of hairspray and shine spray.

9. Remember to carry some extra bobbypins and a pocket size hairspray in your purse in case of hair emergency.
