I-O Data has launched a 8x external Blu-ray writer codenamed BRD-UH8LE. It measures 166mm x 240mm x 60.5mm and weighs 2.3kg. This portable drive features a 4MB of buffer memory and providing the writing speeds of 8x for BD-R, 6x for BD-R LTH, 2x for BD-RE, 16x for DVD-R/+R SL, 12x for DVD-RAM, 8x for DVD-R/+R DL and DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 48x for CD-R and 24x for CD-RW. The I-O Data BRD-UH8LE will go for USD$267 with one year warranty.
