HP has released two smartphones in its iPAQ range, they are the iPAQ DataMessenger and VoiceMessenger. The iPAQ DataMessenger is running on Windows Mobile 6.1 and it comes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 2.8-inch display, a 3.1-megapixel camera with LED flash, WiFi, Bluetooth, Quadband GSM, Tri-band 7.2 Mbps HSDPA (European bands), HSUPA, A-GPS, 128 MB RAM and 256 MB ROM, microSD expansion, 2.5mm headphone jack and a 1140 mAh battery. It weighs 160g and measures 5.7 x 1.74 x 11.4 cm. The iPAQ Voice Messenger is similar to DataManager, just that it does not have the slide-out keyboard, instead, it has a 20 key suretype-style keyboard. Also running Windows Mobile 6.1, but this one is powered by a larger 1260 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery and it is lighter at 107 g and measures 5.0 x 1.36 x 11.4 cm. Both of them will be available either SIM-free (VoiceMessenger £333; DataMessenger £399) through HP resellers, or with a wireless contract through Vodafone Europe-wide. |
