iOS VERSION 4.2.1 JAILBREAK READY

Recently the Dev-Team has come up with a new redsnow version 0.9.6b4 jailbreak, which is based on Geohot’s Limera1n bootrom exploit. This is still not a final jailbreak as it still needs tethering. That means requiring your iPhone4, iPad, and newer iPhone 3GS and iPod touch to reattach to a PC or Mac to boot into a jailbroken state each time your device loses power or needs a reboot. Not as simple as navigating to a site and jailbreaking with a swipe. Our recommends is to hold off for now, until the ‘untethered’ version is out. Series of edible pizza flags made by Jen from Tiny Urban Kitchen food blog. Jen decided to reflect upon the last decade of travel by recreating the flags of visited countries as pizzas. Jen's family has always loved traveling. Even though her parents were incredible frugal with everything else, they somehow always could afford plane tickets to fly to various parts of the world. Heck, her paternal grandfather founded what became the largest travel agency in Taiwan. When you have something like that in your lineage, you know you're destined to travel.

To this day, the travel bug has never left her, and she is always wondering what trip to take next. The next round in Project Food Blog is to create her own interpretation of pizza. SANDY BRIDGE WILL BE RELEASED ON THE 5TH OF JANUARY

In an official statement from Intel, Chipzilla will be released its next-generation Sandy Bridge processors along with motherboards from partner manufacturers will be launched on the 5th of January at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2011). The launch will take place at Venetion Hotel in Las Vegas. In Sandy Bridge, the CPU and graphics processing unit (GPU) will be combined in one 32-nanometer piece of silicon, unlike current Westmere where only the processor lies in the 32nm chip.

Intel, already the largest graphics chip supplier in the world, will be competing against Nvidia’s higher-performance stand-alone GPUs and AMDs’ integrated CPU-GPU products and higher-performance standalone GPUs. This will be a tight fight, since a large number of lower end systems and notebooks are already running on Intel’s integrated graphics.

When the launch is made, almost every manufacturer in the world will come up with Sandy Bridge. HP, Dell, Apple, Sony, Acer, Lenovo, and Toshiba have all announced that they are up for it. Oddly, a talk to a friendly chap in local IT stores of Low Yat Plaza at KL reviews that Sandy Bridge chips and motherboards will be available as early as mid of December, which probably means that there’ll be some people breaking NDAs again this time. They say it’s probably as early as 5th of December, but I’ll take a pint of salt on that info.

Cadillac has launched the Urban Luxury Concept, a design study exploring a new type of vehicle that offers a luxury experience in a diminutive size. The Cadillac Urban Luxury Concept complements its compact dimensions with the design, features and technology for which Cadillac is known.

“The Cadillac Urban Luxury Concept celebrates its scale with intelligent, innovative content that makes it unique regardless of its size,” said Clay Dean, Director of GM North American Advanced Design and Cadillac Brand Champion. “It has a small exterior footprint, but is roomy inside.”

Engineers have developed a concept hybrid propulsion system for the Urban Luxury Concept that includes a turbocharged 1.0L three-cylinder engine employing electric assist technology, engine start-stop function, brake energy regeneration and a dry dual-clutch transmission. Based on extensive prototype and production experience, a combination of these technologies could offer projected fuel economy of 56 mpg in the city and 65 mpg on the highway, in a vehicle of the size and configuration of the Urban Luxury Concept.

ASSASSIN'S CREED : BROTHERHOOD

Here's probably why Assassin’s Creed is so great. Well, at least for Brotherhood’s title. At times bugs and glitches in games are rather annoying. Either they totally crash your system, or they prevent you from continuing your storyline. But this glitch is awesome! Simply throw the player into the sky, and you’ve got yourself the best view of an entire city! You can’t really compare this to games like Grand Theft Auto or even Counter Strike with zero gravity. This is a game set in the Renaissance, with its whole city crafted out with marvelous graphic. They should’ve provided this view in the game somehow, instead of only climbing up to the tallest building. Now, can somebody tell Ubisoft to whip up the PC version faster?

NEED FOR SPEED SHIFT 2

EA has launched a sequel to their previous Need for Speed: Shift which takes place in track racing will be coming in spring 2011, and it’ll be called Need for Speed Shift 2: Unleashed. What an underwhelming name. Shift was also never my piece of cake. But if you look at the trailer, the graphic seemed to be rather serious, rivaling those from Polyphony’s Gran Turismo 5 and Codemaster’s Dirt 2 and F1 2010. Though, these are all graphically generated animation, so the final thing might or might not be so beautifully crafted.

The game will most probably retain its serious and heavy simulation approach to racing sim, but will receive a graphical overhaul thanks to a new engine. Need for Speed Shift 2: Unleashed will also include an updated version of Autolog, the multiplayer matchmaking service used in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, which you should be familiar with by now, if you play the game.

Here is obviously not the first time someone took Apple’s latest iPod nano and turns it into a watch, but I’ve to admit that TikTok and LunaTik concepts by Scott Wilson of Minimal Studios are definitely the most stunning out of the iWatch concept haystack. The TikTok features a simple snap-in design for quick wrist-mounting and is tentatively priced at USD$35, assuming that they managed to turn it from a concept to a real deal and ship it. The LunaTik, on the other hand, is marketed as a “premium conversion kit” that secures the Nano in a two-piece CNC-machined aluminum case held together with stainless steel bolts, and should ship for an estimated USD$70.

SHARP PLANS 3D SMARTPHONES IN 2011 FOR CHINA, USA, AND INDIA

Sharp has introduced its intentions to sell new 3D-display equipped smartphones that don't require glasses to view them in the United States, China, and India in 2011. Apple might have their Retina display to boast around, but now everything’s in 3D yo. That’s because Sharp’s autostereoscopic 3D is coming to a smartphone near you next year. Sharp plans to debut their Softbank-bound Galapagos 003SH and 005SH Android handsets next month, but Sharp has also confirmed its intention to also bring it Stateside as well as to two of the world’s most populous nations in China and India.

It’s not yet exactly clear what handsets those markets will be getting, but if you’re looking for further signs of Sharp’s expanding international ambition, the company’s reported to also be contemplating extending its e-reading tablet platform out to the US and China. Things seemed to be starting to heat up since Panasonic will also start venturing into smartphone territorial next year.

PANASONIC TO INVADE SMARTPHONE SALES IN JAPAN NEXT YEAR

Panasonic might not be new to the world of mobile phones, but it has been rather quiet in the smartphone explosion that has taken place. But fear not, as the people who brought you the cute GD50 and the clamshell GD88 will be back very soon. Speaking at a news conference yesterday, the ‘Taicho’ of Panasonic’s mobile division, Osamu Waki, admitted flatly that the company “misjudged the speed at which smartphones would be taken up in the Japanese market,” and that “with the rapid shift to Android, we want to catch up quickly.” Exact particulars on how it gives the iPhone (and the WinFags since we already have iFags) a good cat fight is still not clear, but Panasonic’s phones will indeed be based on Android, and it seemingly hopes to distinguish them from the overcrowded market by emphasizing their networking capabilities with other Panasonic products. Lumix-services anyone? As for when the first ones will roll out, Panasonic plans to kick off sales in Japan sometime next year, with overseas markets set to follow in 2012.

NISSAN ELLURE CONCEPT 2010

Here's Nissan Ellure Concept 2010. The Ellure is swoopy and musculer, like a futuristic Maxima. With a front end supposedly inspired by the formal coat worn by Samurai, Nissan asserts that the Ellure makes no attempt to hide its “sedan-ness”, mentioning that they expect this body style to be the core of their future product lineup.

“When all is said and done, the sedan will always be core to the Nissan product portfolio. Our goal is to rejuvenate the sedan’s attractiveness to buyers who might have migrated to other segments, or who are coming reluctantly into the category,” said Nissan Senior VP Shiro Nakamura. “By respecting its strengths, while recognizing that emotion is as critical as function, Ellure could well be the wave, or more correctly the ‘shock wave,’ of future sedans.”

Naturally, the Ellure is a hybrid that uses a supercharged 2.5L four-cylinder, a CVT transmission and a 25kw electric motor.

Ferrari’s theme park is poised for the fastest roller coaster in the world, and who knows how fast they are? Massa and Alonso of kush. Feeling the G with no helmet this time, the Ferrari drivers are dump into the front seat of the world’s fastest roller coaster for some screaming. Sadly the video below does not do justice due to the noise made by the extremely strong wind during the ride. But I’ve to admit, the ride doesn’t seem all that fun, besides going very fast. Well, at least Alonso’s face at 0:20 to 0:25 sure is priceless, reminds me of Jeremy Clarkson in the Ariel Atom.

ANOTHER ASSASSIN WILL BE RELEASED IN 2011

Well, Brotherhood should be available starting today, but people are already wandering about the next! That’s fast, but this is pretty much the standard cycle of Assassin’s Creed. But don’t worry, as Ubisoft already has an answer for you!

“There will be something around Assassin’s,” Yves Guillemot, the CEO of Ubisoft, the company behind the Assassin’s Creed series, said today when answering the 2011 question. “That’s the only thing we can say.”

Guillemot gave this statement directly to investors during a financial briefing call today (and indirectly to assassin fans out there). The investors were hounding the CEO about the future of the Assassin’s Creed series, which Ubisoft executives have said they would like to make it an annual thing. There was a two year gap between the first and second Assassin’s Creeds but only one year between last year’s AC2 and the newly launched Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. On the call today, the Ubisoft execs reiterated their “ultimate goal” to make the series yearly. Hopefully they won’t delay the game like some others, or make it crappy due to 1-year-development-cycle like some others.
