WHERE DOES BABY COME FROM?

"Where does baby come from?" asked the kids. Could’t answer that question? that's a tricky question for the parents. Couldn’t really tell your kids how you bonk your lover or your best friend’s girlfriend resulted in this cute little creature, right? Let them watch this video, and try to explain that they’re the sole champion of a one thousand kilometre journey challenge.

PEUGEOT EX1 ELECTRIC ROADSTER

The French automaker has launched a unique take on the formula called the Peugeot EX1. The EX1 has already broken several world records for acceleration from a standing start. It owes its stunning performance to its streamlined aerodynamics, its ultra-light structure and its two electric motors, which give the car a cumulative maximum power of 250 kW (340 bhp) and four-wheel drive. As the preparations for the commercial launch of the iOn near completion, Peugeot demonstrates with the EX1 the exciting possibilities for electric power.

The pure styling of this two-seater roadster is in keeping with its mechanical design, like a kind of “exoskeleton” highlighting the light-weight nature that guided the vehicle’s creation. The design of the body incorporates Peugeot’s new stylistic design codes, first seen on the SR1 concept car earlier this year, with its “floating” front grille and flowing contours. Polished aluminium components adorn the door surrounds in a reference to the RCZ and BB1.

The electric motor is a potential source of new driving sensations thanks to its exceptional acceleration capabilities, but also because it is silent in operation and makes the car very easy to drive (no need for a gearbox). On the EX1 concept car, two electric motors are used, one on each axle, each with a peak output of 125 kW (250 kW / 340 bhp in total), and an immediately available constant maximum torque of 240 Nm at the front and rear.

SHARP GALAPAGOS E-READERS

Here are two new line of Galapagos e-reading tablets from Sharp ready in December. They named them Galapagos in honour of the evolution the company believes they represent. The 5.5-inch Mobile version (pictured above) has a delightfully dense 1024 x 600 LCD screen, while its 10.8-inch Home sibling offers a very decent 1366 x 800.

There’s 802.11b/g WiFi on both, while the littler slate is also enriched with a navigational trackball. Sharp’s emphasis here really seems to be on the cloud-based ecosystem it’s creating for these “terminal” devices — 30,000 newspapers, magazines and books have been lined up for its planned December launch and an “automatic scheduled delivery” facility will help you get at them as soon as the latest issue’s ready for consumption. Sadly, we should note that this is specifically tailored to suit the Japanese market, which makes an international release seem somewhat unlikely.

RED OR BLACK DRESS FOR PROM

Red or black dress is sophisticated and sexy choice. In the modern eye, light-colored dresses seem less like formal attire for an evening of dinner and dancing than red or black. The "lady in the red dress" is a siren; the red dress speaks loudly ! When choosing a red dress, be prepared to receive a lot of attention. Focus on a dress and fabric that will enhance your body style by framing your best features.

Consider keeping your shoes, bag, and other accessories neutral and classic so that they don't "fight" with the dress. While the red dress will be something everyone remembers, you will be able to use the accessories again and again. Decide which colors flatter your skin tone.

If you choose a full length red dress, particularly one of shiny satin, taffeta, or a great deal of tulle, consider getting one which can be altered for club wear and semi-formal occasions . Even a short red dress is more formal than a short dress of another color, however.

The "little black dress" is a style staple, but it is more common for cocktail, not formal (black tie/white tie) events like prom. Should you choose a short black dress for prom, you will probably want to choose something which is simple and chic, because you will undoubtedly be wearing the dress again and again, for all different sorts of events. Look for a style you can dress up for prom and other formal occasions, perhaps with stockings with rhinestones or seams or patterns, with unusual shoes of any color, and with a suite of elegant accessories: evening bag, shrug, jewelry, and your flowers. You can dress it "down" with simpler accessories for openings, concerts, and dinner out on the town. You can also jazz it up for clubbing.

If you choose a full length black dress, you may want to consider getting one which can be shortened into a "little black dress," such as a streamlined gown with an unusual neckline or back, but with a relatively simple waist and skirt.

If you don't shorten your black dress, you'll be able to wear it for formal evenings, on the prom night, to look gorgeous and to hear the wow!

If you don't have to worry about wearing your prom dress a second time, go wild! And either a red dress or a black dress is wild.

50TH ANNIVERSARY SANRIO HELLO KITTY USB FLASH DRIVE

It seems like Sanrio is always celebrating some kind of birthday, and for the company’s 50th anniversary they’ve busted out more than their fair share of gear. This time, it’s a “classic” Hello Kitty USB flash drive that comes in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB capacities. We’re kind of in love with Kitty’s elongated face on this model, so if you so choose, you can grab one of these up for a starting price of USD$35.

BOEING SOLAR EAGLE

Here Boeing Solar Eagle is a uniquely configured, large unmanned aircraft designed to eventually remain on station at stratospheric. People used to build airplanes to go faster, and carry more chicks on board. But apparently DARPA wasn’t in the mood to do that. No, they wanted to be on board for 5 freaking years! So, they’ve slid Boeing a cool USD$89 million to develop a plane that will stay in the air for five years, just so they can party nonstop. The 435-foot-wingspan’d SolarEagle will do just that. It will use photovoltaics to help keep it at 65,000 feet, where Boeing spokesman Pat O’Neil says it will “perform persistent communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions,” which we hope means it will just be hanging around doing “how’s the weather down there” tweets all day long. SolarEagle’s first demo flight is slated for 2014. Sadly there’s no seat for anyone.

BOOKEEN'S CYBOOK ORIZON E-READER TOUCH SCREEN

Here's Bookeen e-book multitouch, the European leader of the e-book reader market. Bookeen’s been showing off its Cybook Orizon e-Reader since early this year, but it is finally seeing the light of day by now. Bookeen will be making pre-order available in Europe starting end of September for a Suggested retail price is €300. Other countries would follow suit. The e-Reader will be available in “mid-October” and the company boast that the 6-inch multitouch screen will provide a reading experience “close to that of actual paper”. That screen is apparently based on SiPix’s so-called “Caress touch ePaper” technology, and packs a 167 dpi resolution and 16 levels of gray. Otherwise, you’ll get built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (no 3G option), plus 2GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot for expansion, 150 pre-loaded books (presumably public domain), and a web browser that promises “unrestricted” access to the sites of your choice.

DELL RELEASES GALAXY TABLET CHALLENGER

Here's the big daddy of the mighty Dell Inc., Michael Dell has teased the rest of the public with a 7-inch glass that looks kind of funky. What he pulled out from his pocket is an Android tablet. Besides showing that he could fool around with that piece of glass device, Dell also announced that the smaller Streak is heading to Best Buy next month. Mr. Dell Wednesday also said the five-inch Streak, which doubles as a smartphone, would soon be available at Best Buy Co. stores, where it will compete for shelf space with the iPad. Hopefully it’s running on Froyo, or else all fun would be spoilt.

NOKIA N8 POSTPONED TO NOVEMBER BY SOFTWARE PROBLEM

These coming weeks if you’re eager to get your hands on this much-anticipated touchscreen Nokia, your dreams will be purged. The much-hyped about Symbian^3 phone has been pushed back a few weeks back to October while Nokia makes “some final amends.”
Here’s the full statement:
“The amount of pre-orders has exceeded our expectations and we are working hard to deliver the Nokia N8 to the market. In some markets, we had planned to start delivering the Nokia N8s to our pre-order customers by the end of September. To ensure a great user experience, we have decided to hold the shipments for a few weeks to do some final amends. We’re thrilled with the response that we’ve had to the Nokia N8 and assure everyone who has pre-ordered it already that it’ll be worth the wait! We expect consumers to get their Nokia N8s during October.”
For what it’s worth, Nokia mentioned during Nokia World last week that the N8 is seeing strong pre-order demand – the strongest ever for a Nokia device, allegedly – so this is likely to bum out a lot of folks, and for a few, it might even be just the impetus they needed to hold out for the upcoming E7. Well the good news is that some rumours have been flocking around that the delay will peg till November, so be glad that you don’t really have to wait till that long.

GRAN TURISMO 5 WILL BRING A UNIQUE PROTOTYPE X-1

Digital Polyphony has teamed up with Adrian Newey from Red Bull Racing to ask: What would happen if a top-tier racecar was freed from any and all technical regulations? What speeds could it achieve, what would it look like and what automotive records could it devour? The answer to those questions, and possibly many others, could be found with the X1 (virtual) prototype vehicle.
The team who produces Gran Turismo is known for their devotion to detail (interior, exterior, engine, everything!) and the realistic tracks, while cars and driving dynamics are a major part of the popularity behind this series. So it’s safe to assume that the drivable concept sticks to the laws of physics while pushing technology to the limit. Think of it as a return to the turbocharged 80s-era F1 cars, with some Group B rally monsters thrown in along with a heaping helping of cutting edge technology.

So, the wait is nearing the end. Have you prepared 3D LED TV for this epic racing game? You better be.

BOEING TO START SPACE TOURISM SEATS TO ITS CST-100 FLIGHT

Space tourism; how bombarding can this business go? How often do you hear of people booking flight tickets to the space at Nasa Airlines? Nasa might not be heavily promoting their space tourism flights, but Boeing is getting ready to.

Boeing will offer space tourism to its CST-100 spacecraft or Crew Space Transportation-100 – low orbit flights by 2015. Operated by a partnership with Space Adventures, the flights will be able to carry up to seven passengers about 62 miles above Earth’s surface and the craft are currently being developed with the help of NASA.The space shuttle could also be used as a ferry to get people to and from the various space habitats companies are working away at. There’s no word on what the pricing of one of these journeys will look like, but I assure you it’s going to be more than just a limb and a thigh and your right eye.

SEIKO ACTIVE MATRIX EPD WATCH

Seiko, their brand name will always give me a glimpse of their manly watches, and the handsome Asian ambassador Ekin Cheng. But their new concept seemed more ‘geeky’, even though there’s some retro cues. Even the name is very geeky. It’s called the “active matrix” E Ink watch, and it’s going to hit your nearest CityChain store in Christmas. Seiko's new Active Matrix EPD watch will get you excited about non analog quartz timepieces once again.

The company’s had a thing for E Ink timepieces for a while now, but what sets this new one apart is the supposed 180-degree viewing angle it affords – and, of course, those retro good looks do it no harm either. Then there’s also the radio-controlled movement, which receives its time from the nearest atomic clock, and the solar cells framing that electrophoretic display. All very nice and neat, but the best news is that it might (not) cost you your limb, your thigh, and your right eye.
